Cable Support Steelwork
TriangleUK fabricates, installs and clips the steelwork required to support cable systems at the following voltages:
● 132KV transmission cable systems
● 66KV cable systems
● 33KV cable systems
● 11KV cable systems
● LV (low voltage) mains cable systems
The scope covers all associated metalwork: cable support frames, fixings, brackets, rigging, bolting down to sufficient steel, and junction steelwork. We have experience with cable joint bays where cable runs reach their maximum drum length capacity from the laying machine through to the supply point, including at the base of pylons where overhead transmission lines transition to underground cable.
We expect to work from as-built drawings and a design. Cable support is a specialist operation and we do not take it on without the right information.
Security Screens & Protective Steelwork
We fabricate and install security screens and protective steelwork to protect cables and transformers at substations and associated infrastructure. These are built to the requirements of each installation, not off a standard template.
GIS Switchgear Cages
TriangleUK fabricates and installs steelwork cages for GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) at UK substations. GIS switchgear uses insulating gas rather than air, which eliminates the arcing that occurs with conventional switchgear and extends the operational life of the equipment considerably. We build the steelwork cages that house and protect these units on site, working to drawings and specifications supplied.
Substations, Shafts and Tunnelling
We have direct experience in substations (including live substation entry), vertical shaft environments, and tunnel installations. We hold substation entry provision and confined spaces certification covering A, B and C environments. All work is carried out with full method statements and risk assessments.
Datacentre Steelwork
TriangleUK provides cable support steelwork, security screens and protective steelwork for datacentre projects. The work draws on the same experience as our substation and utilities installations. We fabricate and install to the drawings provided, and hold the certifications required to work in operational datacentre environments.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
We provide steelwork for battery farm and BESS installations. The scope is similar to substation and utilities work: cable support systems, protective steelwork and security screens for battery units and associated equipment. We fabricate and install to specification.
Lift Shaft Steelwork
TriangleUK supplies and fits steelwork for lift shaft first fix — the initial structural bays and framework needed before lift installation begins. We also refurbish existing lift shaft steelwork where it needs bringing back up to standard. This is supply and fit work; we source the materials and manage the installation on site.
Working With Us
We work with main contractors, utilities companies, network operators and specialist engineers. We need as-built drawings and a design to work from before we start. That is not a barrier — it is how this kind of work gets done properly.
